Optimized for enterprise-level high-capacity storage applications, Supermicro’s SC836storage chassis supports 16 hot-swappable 3.5″ SAS/SATA hard drive bays with options of adding additional slim floppy/DVD sizes and rear 2.5”x2 drive bays. It offers the highest storage density for a 3U system (up to 20 hot-swap drives: 16 front + 2 slim + 2 rear). With 100% cooling redundancy and multiple choices of high efficiency (1+1) redundant power supplies (800W, 710W DC, Gold Level 1200W, Platinum Level 500W/920W/1280W or Titanium Level 1000W) with PMBus functionality and I2C for enhanced power management, SC836 is the best choice for the next-generation dual-processor from Intel® and AMD® platforms. Direct attached HDD backplane (TQ version), multilane backplane (A version) and expander backplanes (E1C/E2C/E16/E26 versions) are available for any specific applications. Heavy duty palletized packaging is available to ensure secure system reliability during shipping. Each chassis comes with standard tool-less, roller rail design for easy installation and maintenance.
